Black Current
An AI-native crisis simulation for decision rehearsal: participants act in their own words, while each decision generates plausible consequences, new situations and a traceable after-action record.
Purpose
Black Current extends crisis exercises beyond a fixed scenario. It begins with an authored crisis, then uses AI to generate subsequent situations from each participant’s decisions and carry their consequences forward, creating an evolving exercise world that complements expert-led training.
Who it is for
Crisis-management practitioners, exercise designers and institutional teams rehearsing government coordination, cyber and digital continuity, crisis communications, emergency coordination, and airport or aviation continuity. The current testing scenario is set at Sofia Airport.
What it produces
Independent exercise paths shaped by free-form decisions within defined authority and resource constraints, plausible consequences and new situations after each decision, and a personal after-action report tracing decisions and outcomes.
Method note
Black Current is built by CORE and is currently presented for expert testing. The testing format asks specialists to assess scenario realism, decision logic, learning value, assessment criteria and safeguards before any wider use. It is intended to complement, not replace, expert facilitation.
